Wondering why there wasn't an entry for last weeks sermon notes??? It's because the Holy Spirit showed up big time last week and walked the aisles. The Putman family started with our special singing and God's Holy Spirit took over from there....Amen!!!! Several prayers were answered and the excitement was everywhere. If you were there you were truly blessed and if you missed it just make sure you don't miss the next time by joining us every Sunday morning at 10:45am....now on for this weeks -
Scripture: Matthew 24:12
Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,
Question of the week - Has your love grown cold? We need to get back to loving Jesus all over again!!!
-- Our love has grown cold for our Savior
Do you remember when you first fell in love with your spouse or girlfriend/boyfriend? You couldn't wait to be with them, you loved to be around them and couldn't wait to see their face and be in their company. The same thing happens when we are first saved, we love being around Jesus, we love talking with Him, and we can't stop talking about Him with others. But somewhere along the way that newest wears off...our love has grown cold.
-- Our love has grown cold for the Scripture
Does this sound familiar? You get up on Sunday morning and run out the door before you are too late...but wait, where is your Bible, you run back inside and pick it up where you left it last Sunday after you got home from church. Have you forgotten how much POWER is inside the Bible? Remember when you were first saved and you loved to read the Bible all the time? You couldn't get enough, you read it, you studied it and it just seemed like things made sense. But somewhere along the way the scripture is just a book that sits on the shelf all week long...our love has grown cold.
-- Our love has grown cold for the Sanctuary
Did you know that there is a service on Sunday night? Or even that there is one on Wednesday night? You used to...every time the doors of the church were open with any kind of service you were there! But now just making it to church on Sunday morning is sometimes difficult...there are too many other things going on. Just in our lifetime we have seen the change of nothing being open on Sunday's to everything being open. The devil has taken the stores and malls and used them for his work. There was a time when people would spend entire days at church, in fellowship and worship, but now...our love has grown cold.
-- Our love has grown cold for our Saints
Christians have to have a love for one another. There are churches today that are split down the middle...literally. Some 'christians' sit on one side of the church because they "just can't sit on the same side as them..." Heaven isn't going to have two sides! If you can't get along with people here on earth how are you going to get along with them in heaven? ....our love has grown cold.
-- Our love has grown cold for sinners
Have you ever heard someone say "I'm so glad those 'sinners' don't come to our church!" That is just wrong!!! We have turned our backs on the sinners and downtrodden of our time. Have we already forgotten that we are all sinners saved by the amazing grace of God!!!
John 3:16 For God so loved the world.... That means that God loves EVERYBODY!!! If God can love everybody why can't we....our love has grown cold.
Go to that Bible that you placed on the shelf after church service this morning and read Revelation 2:4-5.
Remember your first love, repent and return to your first works or lose it all!!!
So the question is asked again - has your love grown cold? If it has then pick up the Scripture and join us tonight for our service where Bro. Ryan will be preaching the Word of God to the Saints and Sinners in the Sanctuary where we all love worshiping our Savior.
May God bless your week and remember your first love of Jesus Christ...
