Living Among Wolves

Today was our service for those that Graduated, either from high school or college. At the church we have a tradition of giving each graduate a bible to keep with them as they go forward into their adult life. We hope and pray that in the darkest times that it will be something they will remember and look to for answers.
Scripture: Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
After graduating from high school or college many young people don't realize the fight they will have in front of them. Satan is looking specifically for those whom he can devour, and leaving the safety of home and getting away from both their family and their church family many times leaves young adults very vulnerable.
So what do you do when faced with the wolves in this world?
1.) Stand firm and keep an uncompromising faith - In the book of Daniel the 3 Hebrew children were told to bow before the king or face being thrown in the fire. Their faith in their God was such that they didn't fear anything that the earthly king might try to do to them. At some point you have to know that you will be ridiculed and tested about your faith, but when you stand firm and have an uncompromising faith God will not allow anything to happen to his children.
2.) You must understand God's purpose for your life -
Proverbs 3:5 'Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.'
Romans 8:28 'And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.'
3.) Have unity with other believers - Don't be an island....get involved with church. The devil finds it so easy to attack when you are alone. Wherever you go make sure to find a church to help you and support you.
4.) Make sure you are under the blood of Jesus Christ! Make sure you are saved!
We love all of our graduates and pray that they will take us with them through the next season of their lives and know that we are always here loving them and praying for them.
Congratulations to all the graduates of 2017!
