A Mother's Love, A Picture of God's Love

Scripture: Isiah 49:13-16

15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

Israel thought that God had abandoned them, but God says - 'can a mother forget her child?'

The love of God can be seen in the love of your earthly mother...there are so many similarities:

1.) It is a sacrificial love - How many times has a mother given up something for themselves when it would mean that their child would get what they wanted or needed? How many times do mothers lay in bed crying tears of worry about something that is going on with their child? How hard so many, many mothers work after their children have gone to bed cleaning, doing laundry or so many other jobs that have to be done to keep the household running smoothly? Never take for granted how much your mother sacrifices on your behalf.

God is the same way - He sacrificed His child.

2.) It is an unconditional love - Moms love you regardless!!! Moms love you when you aren't very lovable!!! Moms will never give up on you!!!

God is the same way - He loves you no matter what you do!!!

3.) It is an inseparable love - No matter how far away you move, physically or emotionally, moms will still love their children.

God is the same way - Even if you turn your back on Him, He still loves you!

4.) It is a never-ending love - Every mothers prayer is that their children go to heaven.

God is the same way - He wants you to come home to Him!

Just like a loving mother God will never give up on you. No matter what you have done or how far you are in sin, He still loves you and wants you safe in His arms. It is never too late...come home to God!
