As for me and my house...

Scripture: Joshua 24:14-15

14 Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.

15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Joshua and the Israelites were now living in the land of the Amorites and Joshua had to remind the Israelites that before Abraham and on the other side of the flood, their fathers also worshiped other gods. But now, they must make a decision and 'choose you this day whom ye will serve.' Joshua flat out told them what he and his family would do...'as for me and my house.'

So when it comes to your own house there are things you must decide to do...

1.) Fear the Lord - In the times of today there is no reverence for God our Lord. We live by the words of "Do as I say not as I do." That is wrong. Christians need to lead by example. We need to get back to fearing God. In today's time things are out of order and God is a god of order.

2.) Worship the Lord - Whatever you put before the Lord is what you worship, it is your pagan god. Nothing should come before the worship of the Lord God.

3.) Serve the Lord - The way you live your daily life should still be done in a way to serve the Lord. It is time for the man of the house to stand up and lead their household in the way of the Lord.

So again, the question is asked - choose you this day whom ye will serve...but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

God bless and prayers for all throughout the week.
