Scripture: Psalms - Chapter 121

1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth,

and even for evermore.

Who doesn't need help these days? No one can do it all on their own - we all need help!

The psalmist does an amazing job summing up God's love for us in 3 points...

1.) The Lord is our HELPER - The first two verses of the chapter clearly show us that God is a friend that is closer than a brother. When death touches our lives He will always be there to help you through.

2.) The Lord is our KEEPER - Verses 3, 4 and 5 all repeat that God will be our keeper, which is another word for one who watches over or guards. When God asked Cain where Abel was his response was "Am I my brother's keeper?" God is our keeper! When the world comes against us we can rest assured that God will be there for us, He neither slumbers nor sleeps. You will never get an answering machine when you need to talk to God.

3.) The Lord is our PRESERVER - When you are in a boat on the water you put on a life preserver to save you if you fall into the water. God is our life preserver but He fills us up from the inside. As long as you stay in God, He will stay in you!

When Jesus brought blind Bartimaeus unto Him, He said "What wilt thou that I should do unto thee?" Jesus knew that Bartimaeus was blind and that he needed to be healed, but Jesus needed to see an effort on the blind man's part - He wanted Bartimaeus to ASK?

"Ask and ye shall receive..."

"You have not, because you ask not..."

Have you asked God for help?

There is no problem too big that God can not help!!!!

God is good all the time...

All the time God is good!!!
